There is a brief point during a sunrise that the grass becomes almost fluorescent green. Even in the diminished light, the greens seem to glow. In this painting, I attempt to capture that brief pop of green, and contrast it with a complimentary red barn. To me, the painting evokes the feeling of a fresh new day in which the work of farming is about to begin.
